Book Review- 'Here Sat
a Key Maker by Makarand Lohire'
“An interesting, EMOTIONAL STORY about dreams, love, principles,
VALUES, Friendship & hatred …THIS IS A NOVEL BY Makarand Lohire …”
The story moves
around Javed, Shashank, Preity, their simple lives which becomes complicated by
poverty, love and ambition. The story begins with a doctor who is dead tired after his
shift, trying to get back to his room to sleep, as he has lost his keys. He has
to go and look for a key maker. This is where the real story begins, when the
tired doctor, listens to the key maker's story, wide-eyed, not sleepy any more. Javed
is a poor boy, he work as a key maker to make his ends meet. The only
motivation in his dull life is watching a beautiful girl who passes by every
day. However, in next to no time Javed gets snarled up with a group of boys who
are not diffident of using unfair means to gain what they want in life. The
character of Javed is being portrayed well. He was a sincere, down to earth guy
who was forced to change due to the circumstances in which he got involved.
On the other hand Shashank
is the son of a rich doctor whose story goes parallel with Javed's. Some way
their lives are interconnected in a strange way in which even they don't know.
Shashank is pining after Preity who is his batch mate. She was a typical
annoying girl who liked to string guys along. Sadly, Shashank was too blinded
by his love to see that first but he came to his senses by the end of it. To
unfold the same you need to read this book.
Now my
Positive viewpoints:
The concept is good
very
fresh story-line, the twist and turn in the story is absorbing. The
author has narrated the story well as it keep readers looking forward to what
will be next. The characters Javed, Shashank,
Preity are beautifully portrayed and there is a depth to the characters. This is a great achievement by Author as he seems to be one of a
promising writer of future.
Some
suggestive points:
Overall the book is really good and
very well expressed. The only drawback what I feel is a proper editing of the
story, as at some places it loses the grip on its readers due to long mention
of differences between Javed,Shashank, and Preity.
Final
words:
Overall if asked I would say...this is a good work
done by Author… (Makarand Lohire) I would give 3 stars to this book.
