After long time a small poem ....friends do share your feedback

Dil, Dosti aur Yaariyan.....

Dil, Dosti aur Yaariyan.....

Myself and Shilpi have not been best of friends from childhood days. In fact she was introduced to me by a common friend about a year back while both of us were present at the Delhi Book Fair of 2013. Ever since that day we have remained in touch and slowly became good friends.

Our friendship bond grew stronger as we realised that we do have a lot in common. We both like to read, write and enjoy literary events. With each write up of ours we got close to each other.

Slowly our friends took it for granted that actually we were sisters. I do feel free to discuss anything and everything from jewelry, clothing, books, and happenings around almost everything.  We do plan our get together, party and outings as well. It will be not wrong that we like to spend our leisure time with each other.

This is the picture from one of an event from Wella hair color in which we both took part and we decided to take a photograph. It was another milestone in the path of our friendship.

There after there were many occasions where we enjoyed doing all girly stuff like- shopping, gossiping eating out...the picture below was clicked when we two went for movie which followed with long session of window shopping.

Then came October the month of my birthday, lot of time was spent together where we planned a party with other friends but still we two were inseparable, we were busy discussing what to wear, color make-up and what not.

This was the time when an already good friendship became more mature with trust and passage of time. As a next step we decided to go on a tour together.

Our planned a trip to Jaipur where we both had great time was a memorable experience.

In order to record our happy moments we clicked lot of pictures so that we could relive our nostalgic moments even in the future. I am glad that I have a lot of good memories with Shilpi.

Recently, I got to know that she had suffered an attack of severe sinus, due to which she was not able to talk or move much. We hardly spoke, chatted or met during her illness, but I did miss her immensely.

She has now recovered from her illness and we both are back on our long talking sessions, pulling each other’s legs, staying overnight, our shopping spree and outings. These pictures depict some of the good times we had spent together.

I am really thankful to God for having her as my best friend. As there is a famous saying, "Good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life."-- Mark Twain.

"A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be."  Douglas Pagels

I would just like to thank Dove, for giving me the opportunity to write about my friend and our friendship. I dedicated this post to you Shilpi and pray to Almighty to give you everything that you have ever desired.

BOOK REVIEW-‘GIN AND LIME, WHISKEY OR WINE?” BY COL. MAHIP CHADHA’

BOOK REVIEW-‘GIN AND LIME, WHISKEY OR WINE?” BY COL. MAHIP CHADHA’

The story moves around the characters have been drawn from the many men and women you do chance to meet up with if you take a leisurely walk in the parks around the Defence Colony of Delhi. The initial chapters of the book have been dedicated to each of the pivotal characters- introducing them to the readers like- A Colonel whose wife tags along wherever he goes, an Admiral whose lonesome life style bothers him secretly. A General, who happened to be a terror in his youth, gets grounded by his strict daughter in his old age. It is said old age is second childhood for any human being. So when the guns and Line of Control tensions start to wash away from their lives- the Soldiers of our country fall in line with the civilians. Their lives are no different than men and women who have spent their lifetime in cities and towns rushing to work place, raising children- getting them married off and now spending their last days being lonesome to the core.It is more like a diary- trespassed with witty jokes and insinuation that uphold the Army culture. Throughout the book- Col Maiip Chadha’ has taken a strong stand against the negligence the army personnel suffer from the Bureaucrats and the politicians. It is sad to read that on side chief minster hands out meager awards to the next of kin of the martyred majorand on the same day he gives away a handsome amount of compensation to civilians who lost their relatives in a liquor catastrophe. The mockery is apparent- the man who got killed in line of action never receives his true respects from his country men who choose to spend their life thoughtlessly. “Gin and Lime, Whiskey or Wine?” is not a question asked by a bar tender flashing you his smile against the neon lights and loud music of the downtown nightclub. To unfold the same you need to read this book.
Now my Positive viewpoints:

The concept is good, the twist and turn in each character's life are interesting as well as give you another view point towards life. The author has narrated the story well. The characters are very well explained. This is a great achievement by Author. Though the title of the book is different altogether but goes with the story and ending.

Some suggestive points:

Overall the book is really good and very well expressed. The only drawback what I feel is at some places the narrative about few character’s life become lack lustre. (Just an opinion, others might not agree with me as per the story line)
Final words:

Overall if asked I would say...this is a high-quality work done by Author… (Mahip Chadha) I would give 4 stars to this book.

Life with Yoga tablet appears to be a blessing …

Life with Yoga tablet appears to be a blessing …

Life with Yoga tablet appears to be a blessing …

Today the mantra is ‘Survival of the fittest.’ In the corporate world fittest implies the Company that can deliver on the promised timeline. With cut throat competition and the need to survive in business the Companies are resorting to incorporate latest technology that can reduce the timeline in order to be one up on the competitors.  In order to ensure compliance of time lines the Companies are forever raising the performance bar of their employees. The employees in turn have to work even while on the move. This is where smart phones and tablets come in.

Smart phones and tablets not only ensure that the work is done even while on the move, Yet they come packed with software that ensures easy connectivity not only amongst the employees but also the social media.

But then every flip has a flop. The present day gadgets are taking fun out of the family life and to some extent friendship also. In a gathering one often comes across people who are glued to the smart phone or the tablet. This kind of aloofness is leading to disintegration of the families. The use of these gadgets has become so pronounced in our life that it is difficult to remain away from them.

Considering the deterioration of family relationships I had no option but to revert to the traditional mobile phone and a conventional computer. First few days were tough but slowly the positive signs of improvement in personal relationships justified the switch from present day gadgetry to conventional ones.
By switching over completely I found that my work also started suffering. Although I was saved from the never ending string of notifications but had to do something about my work. This is where I decided to go in for Lenovo Yoga. This ensured that I could do my work in comfort yet be protected from the constant provoking of my peace of mind that was being done by my Smart Phone. This healthy combination of a tablet and a conventional phone became a blessing in disguise. I could perform all tasks and meet all targets yet be available for the family.

The Lenovo Yoga will be a stand-out in stores this fall due to its slick and innovative design.  Not only does the Lenovo Yoga show a sleek Ultrabook design great for traditional laptop activity, it also amazes with a beautiful 13-inch display that can contort itself nearly 360 degrees backwards behind the keyboard, transforming into a giant-sized tablet. The Yoga pleases the user with its simplicity.  No longer do you have to turn the display this way or that. You can simply fold it backwards and enjoy your tablet.  This simple function breathes new life into the Ultrabook concept. Over and above of  its sleek design and innovative display, the Lenovo Yoga  it stand out when it comes to power back up option.  The device can house up to a Core i7 processor while maintaining a phenomenal 8-hour battery life.  With this kind of power, more than just basic computing becomes possible anywhere.  Now we have the power to play games, listen to music, or watch HD movies. The Yoga also houses two USB 3 ports and an HDMI output.

Lenovo Yoga is making powerful computing very portable with the Yoga, making this device a very attractive choice for those who can’t decide between a smart phones, a  laptop or a tablet.  Why not have both?  The Lenovo Yoga promises to impress this year, and hey, did I mention it also comes in a very eye-catching shades?  If you like powerful portable computing, tablets, Ultrabooks, or the color orange, be sure to check out the Lenovo Yoga.

BOOK REVIEW- “SYAHI - POWER OF THE PEN", PUBLISHED BY TRIUMPH PUBLISHING

Book REVIEW- Syahi - Power of the Pen", published by Triumph Publishing

“A collection of stories from all genres interesting, EMOTIONAL STORies about dreams, love, principles, VALUES, Friendship & hatred, revenge, trust in one word all emotions and phases of life…”

The book is an amazing collection of stories of different genres written by very talented budding authors coming from varied backgrounds. It is a positive trend in the publishing industry of giving new authors a golden opportunity like this to be published at a nation-wide level.

Herein is my story-wise review in brief for all stories as, I don’t want to break the charisma of discovering the hidden emotions by your own. To unfold the same you need to read this book.
1. Inspiration, An Odyssey of Discovering Life... Again - By Apoorva Arora
The story is good and has a beautiful message to tell regarding rising of a child by a single parent, however the weird twist and turn of events going alongside this message seems worthless. The length of the story could have been shorter if those additional events would have been little shorter, still the strong message could have been delivered well. Indeed writer has put forward some beautiful thoughts.

2. Better Late than Never - By Hitakshi Bawa
The story is very simple and beautifully written. It is a well written love story of youngster with few nice lines. The descriptions in the story are nicely done

3. Letting Go - By Aman Sharma
A heart warming story which will make you realise and experience the pain of meeting your ex-lover after both have moved on n their respective lives. The embarrassment, the silence, the feelings, the wintriness which you experience on such a meeting has been portrayed really well. The preeminent part of this story is how the writer has explained the importance of "letting go" to move on in life.

4. 26/11, A Dark Twilight - By Nehali Lalwani
A heart wrenching story expressing the unimaginable pain of someone who has loss their loved ones in a terrorist attack. The story is simple filled with human emotions for pain of losing loved ones and lonesome life.

5. Life, A Vague Mystery! - By Khushi Gupta
She is one of the writers who has dumbfounded me. She is just an 11th standard student, who has written amazingly about the feelings and thoughts of a neglected child in a broken home. The vocabulary is flawless, the use of words is just right and the best part is ending of the story. Good job done by the writer.

6. Shattered Tatters - By Ayush Agarwal
A heart-rending story of a little boy named Keshav who was living in jhuggis, writer makes it into a spellbinding fiction of loss, social illness, thrill and a considerate ending. It is one of such story, which leaves you absorbed in those feelings for hours together. A special mention to the scene describing child abuse - only a writer with great talent can pull off such a scene with such level of intensity.

7. Sometimes it's not simple - By Neoni D'Souza

This story is an impressive tale which keeps the reader engrossed, but fails at some places. The ending of the story is very abrupt but with weak surroundings a little work on twist would have left great impact on readers.

8. The Survivor - By Omung Goyal
An outrageous tale of a survivor of the fateful Uttarakhand floods which created havoc in June 2013 taking lives of thousands of people. The writer amazingly expresses the journey of survival of the protagonist. The expressions of disaster survivor have been portrayed very well and captivating. A little check of vocabulary and grammar would have added wonders to the story.

9. 3 Sins - By Salli Shah
This story is very distressing as it articulate the weaker side of a woman; story has a depressing end, and expressing a suicide was the only option which in end makes you feel remorseful for a girl. A little turn in story would have been better had the girl bounced back to the society even after all hardships.

10. It all started with a key - By Shrutee Parekh
An insensitive issue to write and handle as elusive as AIDS. For an AIDS infected patient, life is a challenge each day. The unadulterated love of a person is something which is very rarely found in today's time though I agree love stands above all. Still it is an emotional love story which seems like a fairy tale in today practical world.

11. It's never too Late - By Aman Sharma
A story of a girl who at the top of her profession decides to return to her childhood romance, even though the guy once abandoned her after having physical intimacy long back, it is something unreasonable in today’s modern times. After the reading the previous story of Aman Sharma, the expectations were high but writer was unable to deliver the same in this story.

12. A Lesson for Life! By Nehali Lalwani
A pleasurable, optimistic and blessed story with beautiful choice of words, pliable twist and turn of events, metaphors and images that leave you spellbound, are the features of this story. In fact I would like to mention that the story by writer portrays life in a very sturdy form.

13. Un-destined Love By Salli Shah
The story seemed to have something interesting to offer. The drawback of our society which is faced by many in today’s household is very well described in the story. The story leaves you dishearten towards the end when two people in love have to part ways owing to religious differences.

14. You Amaze Me - By Ayush Agarwal
This is a magical story with good theme line, the principle, turn of phrases, the turn of events; everything has been portrayed in a beautiful way. A nice flow of writings, the hardest of emotions described in a very delicate manner.

15. That Night @12 By Neoni D'Souza
It is a gripping story with a very well thoughtful storyline. It is a moderate but high-quality story with positive and pure beautiful soul. Nice selection of words with magical impact.

16. To be Hanged, Till Death - By Omung Goyal
This story is an absorbing crime thriller which ends up thrilling you more at the end. Though, the pace of the narration seems little fast, this story where a boy is accused of murdering his own parents. The story shows that humanity still exists in this world.

Now my Positive viewpoints:

The concepts of all stories are really nice and absorbing. This is a great achievement by all Authors for writing such a beautiful work of fiction all seems to be promising writers of future. It is a commendable job done by Aman Sharma & Nehali Lalwani for compiling this beautiful collection of stories.

Some suggestive points:

Overall the book is really good and very well expressed. The only drawback what I feel is a proper editing of the book, book would have done wonders. I would like to once again highlight the importance of grammatical errors, because it does spoil the fun of reading and makes it samey.

Final words:

Overall if asked I would say...this is a good work done by all Authors… I would give 3 stars to this book.

Friendship...

Friendship...

A thought to share ...“often in life we don’t realize that friendship is greater than love ..., we don't even realize this when we have real and honest friends around..., we only realize it when someone whom you have always thought of as a friend..., back stabs you...When a friend breaks your trust it hurts more than a lover abandoning you and then you realize friendship is indeed greater than love..., While you are still figuring out the depth of your emotional connectivity..., the ones who say they would never leave you..., have already left...,  Unfaithful love does breaks heart but an unworthy friend bruises your soul...”

Book Review -‘Here Sat a Key Maker by Makarand Lohire’

Book Review- 'Here Sat a Key Maker by Makarand Lohire'

“An interesting, EMOTIONAL STORY about dreams, love, principles, VALUES, Friendship & hatred …THIS IS A NOVEL BY Makarand Lohire …”

The story moves around Javed, Shashank, Preity, their simple lives which becomes complicated by poverty, love and ambition. The story begins with a doctor who is dead tired after his shift, trying to get back to his room to sleep, as he has lost his keys. He has to go and look for a key maker. This is where the real story begins, when the tired doctor, listens to the key maker's story, wide-eyed, not sleepy any more. Javed is a poor boy, he work as a key maker to make his ends meet. The only motivation in his dull life is watching a beautiful girl who passes by every day. However, in next to no time Javed gets snarled up with a group of boys who are not diffident of using unfair means to gain what they want in life. The character of Javed is being portrayed well. He was a sincere, down to earth guy who was forced to change due to the circumstances in which he got involved.

On the other hand Shashank is the son of a rich doctor whose story goes parallel with Javed's. Some way their lives are interconnected in a strange way in which even they don't know. Shashank is pining after Preity who is his batch mate. She was a typical annoying girl who liked to string guys along. Sadly, Shashank was too blinded by his love to see that first but he came to his senses by the end of it. To unfold the same you need to read this book.

Now my Positive viewpoints:

The concept is good very fresh story-line, the twist and turn in the story is absorbing. The author has narrated the story well as it keep readers looking forward to what will be next. The characters Javed, Shashank, Preity are beautifully portrayed and there is a depth to the characters. This is a great achievement by Author as he seems to be one of a promising writer of future.

Some suggestive points:

Overall the book is really good and very well expressed. The only drawback what I feel is a proper editing of the story, as at some places it loses the grip on its readers due to long mention of differences between Javed,Shashank, and Preity.

Final words:

Overall if asked I would say...this is a good work done by Author… (Makarand Lohire) I would give 3 stars to this book.

BOOK REVIEW-‘THE HOMING PIGEONS BY SID BAHRI

BOOK REVIEW-‘THE HOMING PIGEONS BY Sid Bahri

“An interesting, EMOTIONAL, UNCONVENTIONAL and well expressive story about love, sacrifice, compromises and survival…THIS IS A NOVEL BY SID Bahri …”

The story moves around Radhika and Aditya and their life. Radhika is a recently widowed woman in her early thirties. She is just getting done with her step daughter’s wedding, whom she detests to the very core. Though the feelings are a bit overdone, they are mutual. She looks forward to her freedom which can only come after the wedding as predetermined by the will that his ageing husband had left. While Radhika dreams about her freedom, she does not realise that it will not be as exciting and delightful as she has predicted it to be. On the other hand Aditya, is a jobless wanderer buckled down by a steeply dropping bank balance and an on-the-verge-of-failure marriage. Having lost all hopes of landing a job and finding happiness, Aditya finds his refuge in drinking and continues to spend his evening getting wasted at bars. Little does he know that it is in such a bar that he will chance upon Divya, after which his life will never be the same again. The author has narrated story of Radhika and Aditya very well and as they start with their respective stories the reader would never imagine that the two entirely different stories are somehow connected and are just pieces of a puzzle which will eventually fall in place and complete the whole picture. The story tells you that love exists, and not just in “happily ever after” conditions but in adversities as well. It tells you the story of such a love which though born was never meant to survive, and though survived was never meant to thrive. But flourish it did, even after years and years of hardships and misfortunes. To unfold the same you need to read this book.

Now my Positive viewpoints:

The concept is good, the twist and turn in the story is enthralling. The author has narrated the story well as it keep readers looking forward to what will be next. The characters of Aditya and Radhika are beautifully portrayed and there is a depth to the characters. This is a great achievement by Author. The story becomes a bit predictable in the end and I was able to guess the climax. Though the title of the book well thought and goes with the ending.

Some suggestive points:

Overall the book is really good and very well expressed. The only drawback what I feel is at some places the character of Radhika is been portrayed very weak, especially when, it is mentioned that she has to take some strong decision about her life. Some places she is so helpless that she can’t even take a stand of her own. (Just an opinion, others might not agree to me as per the story line)

Final words:

Overall if asked I would say...this is a good work done by Author… (Sid Bahri) I would give 3.5 stars to this book.
