Book Review—‘Arranged Love by Parul Mittal’

Book Review—‘Arranged Love by Parul Mittal’

Arranged Love by Parul Mittal

A very interesting and heart-seizing book with the tagline of Can it get more complicated ?…
This is a novel by Parul Mittal… This is a story about love, dreams, passion destiny and most importantly a girl’s prospect towards arranged marriage, till she finally is able to figure out a goal in her life

This is the story about Suhaani who is a painter by hobby and likes to enjoy her independent status in the US with her sexy Indian American boyfriend. Due to the sudden loss of her job she has to return back to India where her family has arranged a suitor Deepak, an  IIT guy for her. In the first place Suhaani hates IITian’s because of a bad experience  with an IIT guy in her past. When she saw Deepak’s picture forwarded by her father, she instantly started hating him. And took it is as a closed chapter. However, destiny had something else stored for her and she lost her job due to recession, and was forced to come back to India. And to complicate her life, she joins the same company, iTrot.com, where Deepak was working as her manager!

The story moves on with Suhaani and Deepak, Tanu – Suhaani’s cousin and her school friend Neha. The narration of the story is good. The conversation of two sisters and the conversation between Suhaani and Neha is something which is interesting and makes the reader glued   The way the story takes a turn after the intimacy between Deepak and Suhaani is well written and narrated.

Now my Positive viewpoints:

This is a novel by Parul Mittal … who has done a remarkable job and justification to this story.
Very well narrated and written, the climax has been portrayed well.

Suhaani’s mother’s addiction to farm Villa and the small little tiffs between her parents also add up to some humor in the story.
Some suggestive points:
Overall the story line is good indeed and very well expressed, but just as a suggestion too much of attention is given to the character of ‘Jay’.
Repetition of words too often in the same paragraph or on the same page leaves a poor impression
Explicit words denoting sexual objects need to be avoided if the book is meant for  family. Detailed description of the human anatomy in this case leaves a poor taste in the mouth.
A good writer with imagination will convey the meaning without offending anyone.

Book Review – ‘Spicy Bites of Biryani: Because Life Needs a Little Masala.. By Ashwina Garg’

Book Review – ‘Spicy Bites of Biryani: Because Life Needs a Little Masala.. By Ashwina Garg’

Spicy Bites of Biryani: Because Life Needs a Little Masala...  By Ashwina Garg’

An amazing love story of an intellectual girl who loved to live her life to the fullest with no commmitments to it….. then destiny has something else stored for her….

This is the novel by Ashwina Garg… This is a story about love, relationships, dreams, passion, destiny and most importantly a girl’s (Aditi) prospect towards relationships, life partners and her views about marriage. She is sweet, adorable, bubbly, sensitive, protective, bold, hot crazy and dumb as well; on the other hand Sanjay is a US- returned software millionaire determined to have an arranged marriage with an Indian girl and settle down in India. He is cool, calm, quite and smart. This story revolves around the life and difficulties of the four main characters - Aditi, Sanjay, Jayshree and Mayank and their views about love, relationship, expectation and determination for each other. While reading this story reader feels like part of the story, as the perception, expectation, commitment that we give to our relations have been portrayed in it.

The story starts with Aditi and Sanjay; how they become friends, how they both feel the inclination for each other but are not ready to accept the fact. Subsequently how they both realise their love for each other. The story also revolves around Mayank and Jayshree’s relationship which make one think and realise about how things change after marriage. Both the aspects are shown, the good aspects and the rough ones as well, this may leave the unwed a little unnerved. The understanding, care, concern, commitment and complications that are faced by each couple during child birth are handled with dignity and grace. The overall marriage relationship has been portrayed very well.

Now my Positive viewpoints:
This is the debut novel by Ashwina Garg. He has done an awe-inspiring job and rationalisation to this story.

While reading this story at some places I felt as if Aditi is portraying my very own thoughts only, as every female faces same fears, have same expectations from life and her life partner and face same fights.

Aditi’s mental state and her dilemma has been expressed and written very well, when she has to decide to get into to relation with Sanjay. When she take her final call for her future with Sanjay

Sanjay’s mature & balance behavior his care and concern for Aditi is something which is every girl looks for in her partner.

Aditi & Sanjay’s exclusive moments together are a delight. Their small squabble and the chivalry shown by Sanjay is something to be idealised. The way Aditi & Sanjay spend time together at Sanjay’s home has been depicted very well.

The love, commitment, maturity& understanding between the two is idealistic. Aditi’s advice to Sanjay for work and his girlfriend is written very well.

As the destiny plays its role and the end takes an unexpected turn things work out differently. In order to know how and what happens in end one has to travel this journey with Sanjay & Aditi.
Some suggestive points:
Overall story is superior indeed and very well written and expressed, but just as a suggestion some places story seems being stretched a bit, which can best be reduced.

Book Review—‘An Eternal Romantic by Sreelatha’

A lifetime JOURNEY OF AN enormously ROMANCE ADDICITED indira …
This is a  novel by Sreelatha… This is a story about love, dreams, passion destiny and most importantly a girl’s desperate yearning  to be loved by her dream lover which starts with her young age and grows on with her till her middle age life.  till she finally  is able to figure out her goal in her life

This is the story about Indira who is poetic by nature and likes to pen down all her emotions, her distressed longing for being loved, brings many twist and turns into her life. Even this distraught desire of her pushes her to the state of the disease called as ‘Schizophrenia’.

The story moves on with Indira being confided into her own world of happiness and love. Gradually when she is  able to fight back this devil named ‘Schizophrenia’ and rebuild herself and her trust, she again faces the brutal turn of destiny by losing her love  filled with ‘ Anshuman’.

During her struggle of finding and recollecting herself, she happens to see different aspects of life like – once she herself was on the death bed as she  tries  to find solace, then she faces the dilemma about her career and a purpose of it. This search of purpose and solace in her life make her go to Kerala, her native place,  to serve the people who have suffered the tsunami affected and deprived people.

Each times she stands up and fights back her desires  till,  she finally decides on the final decision of her life.

Now my Positive viewpoints:

This is a  novel by Sreelatha … who has done an remarkable job and justification to this story.
While reading this story at some places I felt as if my own thoughts have been interpreted by the author, as to some extend, every female has same desires, expectations in life and quite often faces same fights.

Indira’s mental state and her dilemma has been expressed and written very well, when she has to take a final decision about her life.

Srikant and Anshuman’s characters are also being  portrayed well , Srikant’s care and concern for Indira after he expresses his feeling to her, all are well explained.
Last but not the least to forget the feather in the writer’s cap is the poetry mentioned across the storyline.
Some suggestive points:
Overall story is good indeed and very well expressed, but just as a suggestion at few places when Indira is in her lost stage, it becomes too monotonous for the reader to keep-up the interest .

Book Review – ‘It Wasn't Love at First: Shalini and I’ by Prashant Sharma

‘It Wasn't Love at First: ‘Shalini and I’ by Prashant Sharma

For people who believe in destiny, relationship ...
This is the third novel by Prashant Sharma… I got attracted to the title of book and ordered it from flip-kart.

This is a story about a relationship between two unknown people who desire to become known to each other- This is the story about the author himself and his love for Shalini. The story is spread over a span of 20 years where they both keep meeting and imparting due to destiny.

The story moves further with different twists and turns  due to destiny , where either of them is not sure about their next meeting…not even sure whether the other one loves or not.
Now my Positive viewpoints:
This is the third novel by Prashant Sharma..who has done a good job and justification to this story. He has not over exposed any one character and the  script is balanced giving  justice to each character.

The author has expressed friendship of Love and relationship very well. Places like when author has got engaged to the girl of his parents’ choice and on the same day he meets his lost love, are narrated very well.

Also the character of Kirti has  been portrayed well.

A real good effort done by the author. It is unpredictable and you want to keep reading the book ill you complete the book.
Some suggestive points:
Although the book’s end shows a happy ending which is all together good ..however on some places it seems it can be cut short  especially  the places where relationship of the author or Kirti is being explained or the shopping day out…Indeed the book is good but at the same time there is a little monotony in some places.
This is just a suggestion….

Book Review – ‘Love, Life And Lust’ by Pritesh Bhosale

‘Love, Life And Lust’ by Pritesh Bhosale
For people who believe in friendship, relationship... , ...
This is the debut novel by  Pritesh Bhosale… I got attracted to the title of book and ordered it from flip-kart.

This is a story about commitment, relationship, love & most important friendship and bonding between  - Adhi, Dhananjay &
Maitreya who meet as acquaintances, but became best  buddies during the process of time….. They also get  Priya..  as an indispensable part of their friendship.

The story of all these characters moves further with different twists and turns by virtue of destiny,   their relationships, their lives, their love, and how this love takes the form of lust..…. To know how and what one has to read ‘Love, Life And Lust’.
Now my Positive viewpoints:
This is the debut novel of Pritesh Bhosale ..who has done a good job and justification to this story. He has not created any chaotic script or over exposure of one character and the, script is balanced and gives justice to each character.

The author has expressed the friendship of Adhi, Dhananjay, and Maitreya & Priya very well. On one hand where Maitreya is the one who can do anything for his friends on other hand Abhi is the one from whom his best buddy is alcohol. Whereas Priya is the person who would face everything in life with confidence and courage.

Also the character of Gulab is been portrayed well. The phrases used by author are also good.

A real good effort done by author as this is his first book..and as it is unpredictable , it urges you to keep reading the book and you cannot stop yourself till you complete the book.
Some suggestive points:
Although the book’s end shows a different aspect of Friendship, Life & Love which is all together good but at the same time needs a rigorous proof reading as there are many grammatical errors. A reader expects that the author or writer of the book is very intellectual and a learned person and such mistakes affect that picture.
This is just a suggestion….

Now my Positive viewpoints:
This is the debut novel by Veena C… who has done an remarkable job and rationalization to this story.

When I started reading this story at I was not able to leave it as it was a start to end story for me. The story starts from childhood days of Sanjay a studious and very well behaved, parents most obedient kid. Who was only concern for his academics and his performance.

That was only after his parents vigor he endeavor into a get-together function in his society. During this period only he met few of really good friends and got socialized.

After completing his academic his got a real good job in Chennai only, which was and other best thing happened to him, but his dreams were to get a job in America which he soon able to get as well.

During his stay in America, he got the best experiences of his life about the work culture in different country, happen to make few more friends, same time he fall in Love with Shreya.

For Sanjay this was all he ever dream of and he was the happiest person to achieve all.
When one fine day all his dreams got smash to smithereens and left him all broke. This made him go in to deep sense of melancholy. When his parents suggest him to come back to Indian.

He came back to be with his own people but faces different pros & cons by society and relatives here. He became more miserable with each passing days when one fine day he happen to meet ‘Gayatri’ who helps him to come out of this ensnare.

How to know this you have to read a debut novel of  Veena C ‘14th Feb: A Love Story’.
Some suggestive points:
In totality the story is good without a doubt and very well express, but just as a suggestion as at some places a general south Indian lingo is been express, that can be avoided considering the readers of all genre.
Final words:
