Inadvertently
I am the one who enjoys reading romance
more than any genre for that matter when it comes to reading.
The story
revolves around the protagonist’s is a girl named Aisha, who is trying to find
out what it actually means to be a woman because she’ll soon be turning 18.
Though she is an excellent student, she believes that most of the people notice
her for her big breasts. While students call her names and spread rumors about
her sex life, she is content in pleasing herself with masturbation and plans on
losing her virginity to a person who will matter to him in future.
On the other
hand, we have Danish, a 23 year old guy who is not able to clear his final
psychology examination. His life and his personal self has always been
overshadowed by the achievements of his younger brother, a young and successful
person.
Danish is
compelled to take a job as a student counsellor by his parents when he fails.
The two meet in a counseling session and Aisha opens up in front of him as she
finds comfort in confiding in him.
Things take a
turn and an unfortunate event threatens to destroy Aisha’s image. Will Danish
be able to help Aisha fight the fate? The understandings and misunderstandings, the clash of egos, another romance on the side suddenly turn up to
complicate matters whip things up and make it more interesting!
I would like
to dislocate my share of earful on the story here without further sharing any
more details, and trying not to spoil the reader’s eagerness and allowing them
to savor the original narration or compelling expression by the writer himself
by reading the book itself. Indeed the climax was quite interesting with twists
and turns as they unfold. For that, you
need to read this book.
Now my Positive viewpoints:
The positives
of the story are the characters easily identifiable.
The story is well knit and the way has constructed has tried to accommodate
numerous things into the context of Our Impossible Love. There are teenage
problems like puberty and sexual confusions, there is bullying, there’s
physical molestation, there’s homosexuality, there’s love and there’s
heartbreak. The result is an utter chaos. Even though the narration is again
easy to read and allows us to easily go through the entire story, the
seriousness or the individuality of the bigger causes in the book gets lost.
Some suggestive points:
Although the
narration of the story is wonderful but in my opinion, the explicit
descriptions went over the top. In his previous books, author has really
emerged out as a better writer and I was quite happy with the maturity he
handled the characters and emotions. However, this one is surely targeted to
the same group he had been writing for when he began writing. I did not like
the beginning. The characters seemed obsessed with the size of boobs and dick.
However, I kind of started liking Our Impossible Love as the story progressed
and it was almost satisfactory till the climax destroyed everything.
Final words:
Overall if
asked I would say this is a good book, the perfect
accompaniment to anyone interesting in reading on weekend pastime. Overall I
would say...this is a commendable job
done by Author (Chetan Bhagat) … I would
give 3.5 stars to this book.
