Kind of love you...

Kind of love you...

Settle for the kind of love that’s extraordinary in all of its ordinariness. The person who makes you feel excited to spend Saturday doing nothing, as long as you’re doing nothing with them.  Always settle for the kind of love that makes you unbelievably happy to sit there and spend your Sunday night sending work emails, or folding your clothes after pulling them out of the dryer, or chopping up vegetables while you make your meals for the week – as long as they are sitting next to you and keeping you company. Because no matter what you’re doing, no matter how boring the task, it’s still so wonderful if you get to be near them while you do it. No matter what always settle for the kind of love where you feel like you can just talk to them. Like you don’t have to be funny or clever or entertaining enough to ‘earn’ their attention. You can just talk to them and say the things that are on your mind and admit if you’re stressed about work or that you’re missing your mom – and you won’t worry about boring them or chasing them away with your uneventfulness, because the two of you have formed the kind of bond that strips away all expectations of being interesting and fascinating and cool all the time, and instead just lets you be your damn selves. Settle for the kind of love that simultaneously makes you feel accepted for who you are but also makes you want to be a better person. Someone who encourages you and supports you and loves you for you. But also, find someone whom you admire so much and respect so much and like so much that you instinctively just want to be a better person, every day, because you feel safe and supported enough to try for it, even if you fail. Someone who looks at you and sees you. Someone who puts their phone down, not just when you’re upset, but even just when you’re there, in front of them, and they want to show you that you matter more to them than a bunch of things happening inside of a little rectangle that will still be there in five minutes from now. Someone who looks you in the eye and makes you feel seen and hears you but also listens to you. Find someone who makes you want to do the same for them. Settle for the kind of love that is hard, and challenging, and so worth every ounce of effort and sacrifice and joy that you put into it. Settle for the kind of love that is rare in its everyday sense of happiness and contentment, the kind of love that grows out of little, tiny moments of affection and thoughtfulness and tenderness and warmth. Settle for that kind of love, and you won’t be settling for anything.

BOOK REVIEW - “THE FACELESS SALDIRGAN BY SAHIL LOOMBA”

BOOK REVIEW - “THE FACELESS SALDIRGAN BY SAHIL LOOMBA”

The Faceless Saldirgan is a breath of fresh air in the growing stories about murder, rape, pain and abnormality as it doesn't just focus on the murder but is quite a lot about the psychology of the killer or the killer instinct, if I must put it that way. The ease with which the executes his meticulous plans and reaches his goal is amazing. While you would be intrigued by what happens in the end and are clueless in the puzzle about who the killer might be, very few could actually guess who the killer is and understand the grand finish the plot is reaching out for.

I usually get bored if the details are more and are not related to the story or, how do I put it pleasantly, not actively contributing to the story, but this was an exception. I actually read through the passages where biology, chemistry, psychology, quotes of religious texts was mentioned verbatim. This was because these small trinkets of information was more to do with the story than to show off the knowledge the author had about the topic or pointed out how lazy you were for not checking that on Google. The story could comfortably bring out the beauty in the characters and build the plot effectively.

To explore the talent of the master storyteller you need to read this book. Towards the end, I wished it could move faster. While the deaths were dealt clinically. Overall a good read, especially if you like murder mysteries and love a quick read. To explore the talent of the master storyteller you need to read this book.

Now my Positive viewpoints:

The positives of the story are the characters easily identifiable. Even though the narration is again easy to read and allows us to easily go through the entire story, tale is spread over long 24 years, but the novelist has chosen present tense all through, and story is intertwined in the past and the present. This style provides a simultaneous telling of many stories happened in different times together. The reader is immersed between the layers of the internal as well as as the external upheavals of various characters. There are many episodes that remains with you long after you keep the book back on the shelf. Jack, Ralph and John live an interesting life to say the least and Jack has the best of everything happening to him along with the beautiful Danielle who adds the jing to the story. Danielle is unfortunately killed off in a horrific manner right in the beginning and the Saldirgan makes a grand appearance albeit being faceless.

Some suggestive points:

Although the narration of the story is good but in my opinion,I wished it was faster but you can never get a perfect pause to the explosive end. While the deaths were dealt clinically, I would have preferred slightly more effect to the process. Overall a good read, especially if you like murder mysteries and love.

Final words:

Overall if asked I would say this is good job done by the author, the book is interesting and a fast read. The writer makes an storyline interesting with her narration abilities. I would give 3.5 stars to this book.

Great food with equally great ambience- United Coffee House, Connaught Place, Delhi

If you are a delhiite or from some other state and have ever been to Cannought place even for a walk around the inner circle, you must have crossed your paths around United Coffee House which is one restaurant that your eyes have certainly witness.Since long I had this place has been on my list for a while. So, the other day me and my friend decided to visit to this restaurants. The place is so full of positive energy around. They have got a great seating space which is spread across the ground floor and upper ground floor. The interiors of the restaurant got the old charm of colonial ambience. People who have not been there ever might get confused with the name “United Coffee house”, that this place may be a any other coffee serving place, however, that is not the scenario, they have great variety of food and drinks in their menu.Talking about the food, the taste and presentation were good. We liked majority of food items, they were absolutely good, but some of them were average. We ordered basil paneer tikka in the appetisers, which were all good and presentable. In the mains, we had butter pindi chole, dal makhni, palak paneer, butter naan, mix raita and rice. Drinks were average and needs great improvement, we had Virgin Majito and Bloody merry. Deserts were very good and authentic, we had Gulab jamun and chocolate decodence The staff was courteous and service was quick. I would recommend you for a lovely fine dining experience and food. Had a very good experience overall.

Latest addition to the list of amazing Drink n Dine options in Noida- Jokers

Lighting arrangement here is done a great amount of aesthetic sense as this place doesn’t feel humane at all. The staff was quite professional and friendly as well
although I and my friend (two females )went there on the last Valentine still they were so supportive that even after the great crowd, they managed to accommodate us.

We had their Jokers menu sizzlers accompanied with a glass of red wine and a bloody mary to treat ourselves. The paneer sizzler was amazing and it was clubbed with veg fried rice.

The combo of fried rice and paneer sizzlers was sure something to try at a restaurant like this

Although I felt the bar menu seems little over expensive compared to even decent ones but the cocktails we had was a great work of art by the bartender
The bartender even gives us the liberty to specially customised our drinks with the flavour of our own choices

Though space area is not very big and doesn’t have any terrace or other floors
however, even with the limited space, they do manage to pimp it well

Would not forget the choice of songs played indeed very great and foot tapping, it automatically turns your mood on to the atmosphere around. still, not some loud place with lots of people, Suits me though :-)
